Day 2 of the WSOP Tournament of Champions

Day 2 of the WSOP Tournament of Champions

After 8 levels of blinds there are 17 players left in the tournament. The winner of the 2010 WSOP Tournament of Champions will receive $ 500,000 in prize money.

Chipleader after two days of play is Mike "The Mouth" Matusow (85,500), followed by Huck Seed (73 000) and Johnny Chan (68,600). Matusow won the event in 2005.

As already on Sunday, five players had to go on Tuesday.

With the first hand of the day poker legend Doyle Brunson was first to go. He got entangled with Daniel Negreanu, who met flush on the last card. Brunson ended thus ranked on twenty-second place.

A 21st place it was for the reigning World Series of Poker Main Event champion Joe Cada. His two Jacks were too weak for Huck Seed's Pocket Kings.

The next to leave was Andrew Barton. The only qualifier in the tournament was the loser in a duel with Chris "Jesus" Ferguson. His Pocket Aces brought him little luck. Ferguson, with pocket Sevens on hand, meets another one on the flop for a triple.

Reigning TOC champ Mike Sexton finished in 19th place. He too was defeated by Pocket Kings (this time courtesy of Scotty Nguyen).

The last elimination of the day was the one of Dan Harrington. He missed a Flush Draw and lost against the two aces of Dany Negreanu.
