Bubble Day at the WSOP
Day 4 at the 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event marked the so-called “bubble day”, the day players enter the money ranks. This year you had to finish at least on place 747 to be “in the money”.
Finishing one place before that magical mark is devastating, of course.
Tim McDonald, a 50-year-old fisherman from Lexington, KY, is this year’s unfortunate “bubble finisher”. He went all-in with pocket Queens, his opponent held A-2. After a ridiculous flop of A-A-2 it was all over for McDonald.
As consolation prize, though, he is guaranteed next year’s Main Event entrance fee of 10,000$.
The announcement that the money was reached brought a loud cheer from the crowd (players included). Each player still in the running has no won at least $19,263 in prize money.
