Poker strategies
Approach slowly
Most poker beginners probably start at the low-limit tables. The competition is not too tough, and with a sort of reasonably strategy should be able to beat poor opponents. Reasonably means not to start outrageous bluffs and to be able to throw away a good hand, when the odds are against you. But what counts for the low limit level first and foremost is that your opponent only pays attention to his own cards. He does not remember how you play your hands. Who wins regularly at low-limit tables is not automatically a good poker player, though, because it can be pretty easy.
Bankroll
As a beginner, you should not invest more money than you can bear to lose. You will play mainly for fun and to learn the game. The bankroll is, so to speak, the "war chest" - what you should increase with (small) winnings. The experienced poker player adjusts the limit he plays always to his bankroll. Who for example, plays at a €2 table should have at least 200 times the big blind, which equals to €400. If you hit a bad streak, you are not immediately broke.
